Egypt's Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali said that the Arab banking sector will see an increasing growth in the coming period.
Addressing the inaugural session of the 21st annual conference of the Union of Arab Banks, Wali estimated the assets of the sector at $3.3 trillion and its total deposits at 2.1 trillion dollars. The sector's loans hit 1.7 trillion dollars, she said. There are around 200 banking institutions in the Arab world, the minister added. |
