Egypt's permanent envoy to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and other international organizations in Geneva Amr Ramadan affirmed the major role played by WTO to boost multilateral world trade system, formulate unified global rules for trade with the participation of all states and ensure that developing and least-developed countries get a fair share of the economic growth and sustainable development.
Taking part in an informal meeting between WTO Director-General Roberto Azevedo and heads of delegations accredited at the WTO, Ramadan hailed successes achieved by the organization during the past three years, even if limited, through the signing of the Trade Facilitation Agreement and the decision to abolish export subsidies for agricultural exports.
