CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Khodair discussed at a meeting with CEO of the Dubai Ports World Group (DP) Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem a plan to carry out expansions during the coming period in Ain Sokhna area.
The expansions include increasing the capacity of Sokhna port. Egypt’s Parliament will ratify soon the new investment law after introducing a number of amendments to it, Khodair said. This comes within the framework of the Egyptian government’s keenness on improving the investment climate to meet the aspirations of Arab and foreign investors, Khodair added. GAFI will provide in April automated services in cooperation with the telecommunications ministry to assist investors to set up their companies, Khodair added. For his part, Bin Sulayem said that Egypt enjoys a strategic location in the center of the Arab world, calling from benefiting from this location in pushing forward the investment movement and supporting international trade. |
