The Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation unveiled its investment plan till 2022.
In a report, the ministry said it eyes private investments worth LE1,460 billion by 2020, representing 11% of Egypt's Gross Domestic Product anticipated during the period from June 2018 June 2020. The ministry also expected the number of companies to increase to 60,000 at a total capital of LE177.5 billion in four years. "A plan has been set to establish 29 investment zones in 15 governorates by 2022," the ministry said, adding that the planned projects will provide 400,000 jobs. The ministry also said that it seeks to increase the market capital of the Egyptian Stock Exchange to one trillion pounds for the first time and double the number of listed companies to reach 400 within four years. |
