Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli led a ministerial economic committee meeting to discuss Egypt's public debt.
Investment Minister Sahar Nasr, Planning Minister Hala el Saeed, Finance Minister Mohamed Moeit, Trade Minister Amr Nassar and Hesham Tawfik, the Public Businesses Sector Minister, attended the meeting. Madbouli said that the public debt is one of the vital issues which needs more concentration in the coming period in line with a comprehensive vision to reduce the debt and maintain the economic growth rate. The meeting tackled suggestions on restructuring the debt and the strategy of dealing with it over the medium term. Meanwhile, the planning minister reviewed Egypt's current economic situation and the expected developments in the next five years. The finance minister, for his part, presented a number of ideas and suggestions of how to reduce the public debt. |
