Egypt's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva Alaa Youssef has deposited Cairo's instrument of ratification for the Trade Facilitation Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The move was taken during Youssef's meeting with WHO Director-General Roberto Azevedo, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement . Youssef said the step comes out of Egypt's belief in the importance of the WTO's role in promoting the role of multilateral trade system, formulating unified international trading rules with the participation of all countries and ensuring that all lower-growing developing countries have a fair share of economic growth and sustainable development. The ambassador also pointed out to Cairo’s full readiness to bolster joint action within the framework of the WTO and prepare for the upcoming ministerial conference, to be held in Kazakhstan in June 2020. |
