The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced the increase in the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and African countries in 2018 to reach 6.9 billion dollars up from 5.6 billion dollars in 2017, a rise of 23%.
The statistics pointed to the increase in the volume of Egyptian exports to African countries to reach 4.7 billion dollars in 2018 compared to 3.7 billion dollars in 2017, a rise of 26.9%. Algeria topped the list of African countries in terms of Egyptian exports during 2018, with Egypt's exports reaching $ 977.2 million, followed by Libya with $ 632.6 million, Morocco with $ 499.3 million,Tunisia with $ 496.6 million and Sudan with $ 396.6 million, while, Guinea Bissau came last with 0.1 million dollars. The statistics pointed to the increase in the volume of Egyptian imports from African countries to reach 2.1 billion dollars in 2018 compared to 1.9 billion dollars in 2017, an increase of 15.2%. Algeria topped the list of African countries in terms of Egyptian imports during 2018, with imports of Egypt reaching 397.7 million dollars, followed by Kenya with 286.6 million dollars, Zambia with 261 million dollars, Sudan with 207.5 million dollars and South Africa with 194.3 million dollars, while, Mali came last with 0.0004 million dollars. |
