Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting to check on the country’s strategic reserves of essential commodities, as well as the status of crop cultivation within the framework of the State’s plan to achieve food security.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali el Moselhi, with Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayed el Quseir participating via video conferencing. During the meeting, the prime minister was reassured about Egypt’s strategic reserves for wheat, rice, subsidized sugar, subsidized oil, pasta, and fresh meat, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said. In this regard, Madbouli was assured that the strategic reserves for those commodities are sufficient as per relevant directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The premier also followed up on the Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ministry’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector, increase cultivated areas, and provide various crops as part of the State's relevant plan. |
