Minister of Finance Al-Morsy Hegazy said the income and sales tax proceeds since the beginning of the current fiscal year till mid April increased by 20 percent, compared with the same period last year, of which EGP 100 billion was paid by 2,000 companies and individuals, members of the Senior Taxpayers Center. A number of mega companies operating in Egypt offered to pay their taxes in the US dollar according to the exchange rates announced by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the minister said. Minister Hegazy called on individuals and companies to speed up their payment of taxes in April.
