President Mohamed Morsi's visit to Russia is of a special importance, said Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Salah Abdel-Mo'men. Morsi's visit to Russia also contributed to further boosting bilateral ties, especially in the agriculture field. In statements on Morsi's visit to Russia and his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Abdel-Mo'men said that Egypt is the most important destination market for Russian wheat exports.
This issue was discussed during the talks to be assured that Russia will supply Egypt with wheat in the upcoming season, the minister added. Also, an agreement was reached to designate Egypt as an export hub for Russian wheat in Africa, Minister Abdel-Mo'men noted. Two grain silos will be set up to store wheat in order to export it to Africa, the minister said.
